About Us

How a family recipe travelled from Europe to Montreal, and then to Toronto

Our Story

weeks at sea
  1. Europe

    Where it began

Our ancestors grew up with the European version of the bagel, sweeter than the typical Toronto bagel.

  2. Montreal

    Early 1900s

After weeks of sailing from Europe to Montreal, their dream was to share the beloved recipe they grew up with.

  3. Toronto

    Decades later

One of their descendants brought the Montreal bagel tradition to Toronto, opening the city’s first Montreal bagel shop, which quickly became a success.
